How to Pack Light for Holiday: Tess Daly's Guide to Building the Perfect Summer Wardrobe
Luxury swimwear, designer resortwear and effortless outfit building from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection.
Packing for a holiday has always been one of my favourite parts of travelling.
Whether I'm escaping to the Greek Islands, spending time along the Italian coast or simply planning a weekend away, I genuinely love laying everything out and thinking about the outfits I'll wear.
But something has definitely changed over the years.
I no longer believe you need to pack a different outfit for every occasion. Instead, I look for pieces that work harder, travel beautifully and can be styled in multiple ways. That's exactly how Gayle and I have always approached designing NAIA Beach.
Every collection is created to outfit build effortlessly, making it easy to create a luxury holiday wardrobe from just a handful of beautifully designed pieces.
And the best part?
Those same pieces don't just belong on holiday.
I find myself wearing them throughout the summer here at home too. Whether I'm appreciating the beautiful weather in the UK, enjoying lunch with friends, spending time in the garden or heading to the coast for the day, my favourite NAIA pieces come with me everywhere.
For me, that's what makes a truly great wardrobe.
It Always Starts With Swimwear
Whenever I begin packing, I start with my swimwear.
Not because I'm planning to spend every day by the pool, but because I know our swimsuits work for so much more than swimming.
One of my absolute favourites is the Selene Swimsuit.
It's supportive, beautifully flattering and incredibly versatile. I'll wear it beneath wide-leg linen trousers for lunch, style it with a flowing skirt for exploring somewhere new or pair it with an oversized shirt for drinks overlooking the sea.
It isn't just swimwear.
It's one of the foundations of my holiday wardrobe.
The same goes for our bikinis.
The Maia Bikini has become a NAIA favourite because it's timeless, elegant and easy to style with matching resortwear, whether that's relaxed trousers, shorts or a lightweight shirt.
That's exactly why we design every collection together.
Outfit Building at NAIA Couldn't Be Easier
One of the questions I hear most often is:
"How do you create so many different outfits without taking a huge suitcase?"
The answer is actually very simple.
At NAIA, we never design individual pieces.
We design collections.
Every swimsuit, bikini, dress, shirt, trouser, pareo and resortwear piece is created alongside one another so they naturally coordinate.
That means every item earns its place in your suitcase.
Instead of packing ten different outfits, you pack versatile pieces that work beautifully together.
A swimsuit becomes a bodysuit.
A shirt becomes a beach cover-up by day and an evening layer after sunset.
A pareo transforms from poolside wrap to elegant skirt.
One collection suddenly becomes dozens of outfits.
That's what we mean when we talk about outfit building.
It's effortless.
Build Around a Colour Palette
One of my biggest packing tips is to choose a colour palette rather than individual outfits.
When everything complements each other, getting dressed becomes incredibly easy.
Every morning you simply reach for whatever feels right because you already know it will work together.
That's exactly how our Spring/Summer 2026 collections have been designed.
Every print, every fabric and every colour has been carefully considered to mix effortlessly across the collection.
My Two Favourite Colour Palettes from Spring/Summer 2026
To make outfit building even easier, I've shared the two colour stories I naturally reach for when packing.
These are the collections I know will take me effortlessly from breakfast by the pool to sightseeing, beach afternoons and evening dinners.
La Mer
If I could only pack one colour story, it would probably be Moroccan Blue.
It's timeless, elegant and inspired by the beautiful blues of the Mediterranean.
The collection feels fresh, sophisticated and incredibly easy to wear.
I love pairing the Selene Swimsuit with matching resortwear, lightweight trousers and coordinating accessories.
Everything works together beautifully, making it incredibly easy to create multiple outfits
